A journey through traditional Sámi food and culture, based on an ancient tradition of taking advantage of nature’s riches. You will both get to cook and eat traditional food from Sápmi.
You'll get picked up in Kiruna and head west towards the mountains and Puoltsa where you'll spend the day cooking around the fire inside the goahti (sami hut). An amazing opportunity for the food and culture enthusiasts to get a genuine insight into Sámi culinary traditions. You'll get to bake gáhkku (Sami bread) over an open fire, make coffee cheese, cook meat and try other Sámi specialties. While you enjoy your own cooked meal you’ll learn more about Sámi food and the Sámi way of relating to nature and animals.
