Family summer week in Lapland
Be careful with the fire and guess what elk-poop looks like! While the kids make new friends and learn this and that about nature, the older members of the family can dedicate themselves to what they presumably need most: relaxation.
Saltoluokta Mountain Lodge is located next to Stora Sjöfallet national park in the Laponia world heritage site. Here the best climbing tree in the world grows – the gnarled ancient forest pine. It’s all about finding a lovely connection to the mountain world through fun and play. You can drink the water in the streams and try your hand at fishing a huge arctic char from the boat jetty. And then you may go for a little mountain hike to the Sami settlement.
While the kids learn all sorts of things from kind activity leaders, parents can take time out for themselves. Perhaps to eat a delicious three-course dinner in Saltoluokta’s renowned high-class restaurant. In the evening, you can relax together in front of the open fire. Or go out into the clear night and just listen to the silence. Maybe reindeer can be seen as dark shadows against the glowing sky. REINDEER!
