Rafting in Gevsjöströmmarna in Åre, Sweden

The Gevsjö currents are a tough stretch of whitewater with Sweden’s steepest navigable rapids.

The tour starts in Gevsjö lake, a good 20 kilometers west of Åre in the beautiful Jämtland mountains. After navigating a number of steep and exciting rapids, it is time to pull ashore for a wilderness lunch at Storfallet waterfall. After lunch, those who wish can try swimming the rapids before navigating the Storfallet waterfall, the high point of the tour with a drop of 6 meters. After that there are 2 kilometers of rapids ending in a narrow passage which guarantees all rafters will get soaked!

Rapids grade 1-4.

Total time just over six hours’ return trip from Åre.
