Elk safari package, Bergslagen

A guided safari into the forests of Bergslagen where the elk density is among the highest in the world. The Swedish elk, also known as the king of the forest is a beautiful but shy animal that lives alone or in small groups.

As the sun sinks behind the treetops, the proud king of the forest gets active and starts searching for food. The chances of seeing elk here are excellent. The record is 34 on a single safari, and no safari has recorded fewer than two sightings. So it's safe to say that this safari has an elk guarantee.

During the Safari it's important to be as silent as possible, this is crucial if we want to catch sight of the timid, majestic animal. We communicate by using signs, and our expert guide takes us beyond the beaten track, deeper into the forest. Suddenly, the majesty of the forest emerges, and we are in the front-row seats, filled with silent admiration as we observe these magnificent animals.

While enjoying the included wilderness picnic at a scenic spot, we listen to an experienced elk-tracker, who teaches us more about the elk other wild animals in the Swedish fauna.

The safari lasts for 5 hour. The hike is for an hour and a half and is rounded off with a tour in a minibus, visiting several of the elk’s favorite haunts.

The package includes a good night’s sleep in comfortable beds at the Wilderness Lodge in Kloten, surrounded by the animals of the forest. The safaris are scheduled between May and September. On other times of the year, the safari is arranged on request with a minimum of 2 participants.
