This dog-sled company was started in 1986 and is the oldest one in the Åre Valley. Åre is one of Sweden´s most popular ski resorts. The kennel has about 50 well-trained Alaskan Huskies which, in addition to their “daily job” also have competed very successfully in long-distance and medium-distance races, both in Sweden and abroad.

Tommy Bernhardsson operates the business. He was raised in the mountains of Jämtland, with outdoor life, fishing, and hunting as natural parts of his life. Tommy has been driving dog sleds professionally since 1984 and is the Swedish long-distance sledding champion. He is assisted by other experienced guides.

All white-water rafting guides are authorized by the Swedish National Maritime Administration.

The labelling comittes statement

Labelling Committee´s motivation (21 May 2003)

An experienced operator which was among the first in Sweden to offer dog-sled tours. Well-trained dogs, good knowledge of the local area, and long experience hosting visitors are a guarantee of high quality. During the dog-sled tours through the snowy landscape, or on trips down one of the rapids of the Indalsälv river, golden eagles can sometimes be observed - a bonus that is actively supported by Åre Sled-Dog Adventures.
