“We grow through having new experiences”, say Christer Wagnås and Daniel Staag who run PULS, an activities company. In Swedish, PULS is an acronym for Personal Experiences Instructive Hardships, to which they add “in adventurous packaging”.
They are mainly geared towards business and conference clients, but do also arrange tours for private travelers. One objective is to make nature accessible to stressed-out individuals. The raw materials are the four elements: earth, water, fire and air. Hardship doesn’t necessarily mean climbing a rock-face or camping out for the night in a raging snowstorm, they hasten to clarify. Going beyond the coverage area of your mobile phone might suffice to leave the demands of civilization and its many obligations behind you for a moment. Just being isn’t as easy as one thinks. But it’s very enjoyable.
The kayak tours take place in Lake Mälaren, in the rich cultural landscape around Skokloster, a baroque palace some 80 km northwest of Stockholm.
